I've done a rewatch of Merlin season one to write down all the importan
stuff that is treated strangely and with some mistakes in the future
seasons. I'll also rewatch the future season to see how the writers
treated what they had with the first season.

Saturday's movie was "The Last Legion", a prequel to the King Arthur stories based on an Italian novel. Most of the characters are Romans, but a significant number of them have Greek names; most the characters with familiar Arthurian names use un-re-translated Italian versions. Yes, it is all a bit flaky, and pretty much cut from whole cloth, but the cast is good, and it is a story about courage and honor and loyalty, and there is a fair amount of decent broadsword combat.

We enjoyed it; it was a decent story decently told.

But Excalibur was NOT the Sword in the Stone. Grrr.

Did the sword that Arthur pulled out of the stone have a specific name? I know it wasn't Excalibur, because he got that one from the Lady of the Lake.
