Guinevere stood at the very edge of the dancing couples.

Date: 2007-09-14 08:18 am (UTC)As reluctant as I am to introduce myself to a someone with whom I have so many fandoms in common (Torchwood, Firefly, Red Dwarf, pretty much your whole list...) by being critical, this just doesn't seem very ARTHURIAN.
Two of the most basic elements of the Arthurian cycle are that, first, Arthur went from unknown to king at a single bounce, and second, that Arthur's marriage to Guenevere was political FIRST, and that whatever romance or personal relationship developed between them, it developed AFTER they were married.
And then we get into the matter of partnered dancing and jousts occurring in the same time frame...
None of these are insurmountable flaws, or even necessarily flaws at all, if this is part of a much larger work that explains the oddities. But as just a fragment... As I said, good romance, but not really Arthurian.

This is also the first time I've dabbled in something like this (I tend to write more contemporary slashy things), so I'm still trying to get the hang of it.
But I'm glad you liked. :D
