Hi, I'm relatively new...I finally have something of relevance to post about.

I just bought Le Morte DArthur by Thomas Malory! I can't wait to dig into it. :]

Has anyone else here read it? What were your thoughts?

Le Morte D'Arthur? Absolutely adored the first half, although I've unfortunatley not had time to finish it. One of these days... It's absolutely worth your time.

Le Mort D'Arthur is a wonderful telling of the Arthurian legends. Bought it and read it one summer while I was in college. Friends thought I was nuts for reading a book that thick just for fun. I believe that book was where I first read of the Lady Ragnell who was old and ugly by day, but beautiful at night. She struck married Gawain through a bargain (before anyone knew she was beautiful at night). On the wedding night, Gawain was shocked to see a beautiful woman in his bed. She said she could either be ugly by day and beautiful by night or vice versa and asked him to choose which he preferred. He told her the choice was hers. She was so moved by being allowed to make her own decision that she chose to be beautiful at all times.

That story has stuck with me for years. I even named ny cat Ragnell when I adopted her...she didn't look like the cat I wanted, but she has such personality! I adore her for the cat she is. Sorry to have rambled so long.
