Have any of you read Guy Gavriel Kay's "Fionavar Tapestry?" It's a trilogy: "The Summer Tree," "The Wandering Fire," and "The Darkest Road." Apologies if I named them incorrectly off the top of my head. Although it isn't immediately evident, there are hints throughout the first book that there will be Arthurian elements, and some of our favorite characters enter the story in the second and third books. Kay presents a nice twist on the legend, giving depth to the characters and changing a few things, but I don't want to give away too much. He's one of my favorite authors.

I've only read his "Tigana" and one other that I can't remember right now, but it's on the same general track.

The Tapestry is one of my fav series. :) Haven't read it in some time, as I moved and most books are still in boxes. I'll have to dig it out sometimes. Very intense writing, and very good. Did you know that Kay spent one summer working with Tolkien or his son Christopher?

I haven't bothered to read Kay's other books, as I felt (like some reviewers) that since he had included so much of European legends in one trilogy that any thing else might not measure up to the wonderfulness of the Finonavar books. :( Perhaps one day I shall try his other works.
