Dec. 17th, 2004 04:14 pmumm... well, i've been reading this book, i think it's called(its not with me) Unlocking The Secrets to King Arthur, or somethign like that. Anyway, the authors suggest that Arthur asn't kinf of England, but in fact only Wales... that history got twisted up because of a later ruler... i'll find the name later, and post it if that one's not right. READ IT! it's good! it's a very clever idea, and puts together a lot of research... i think they make an excelent point, but am yet undecided as to whether or not i believe it yet...

Instead, it meant the area inhabited by the specific Celtic peoples called Britons. That is similar to the Welsh, but didn't correspond to Wales, either, because of vast change in land-ownership caused by the Anglo Saxon invasions, which are a large part of Arthurian legend, anyhow. It is very much a story of resistance to what finally happened, Anglo-saxon takeover of celtic lands.
