I was writing my college application essays (potential Medieval/Renaissance Studies major, yay!) and while I was in the middle of writing one about what I love about the Arthurian legends, I came up with this:

What have we learned from the legends of King Arthur?

1. Do not have sex with your sister. This is a big no-no, especially if she is evil, fertile and endowed with magical powers.

2. Thou shall not covet thy King's wife. If you find yourself in this situation, castrate yourself immediately-- it is better in the long run.

3. Do not sleep with your husband's best freind, especially if you are the queen. Just no. It will not turn out well.

;D

I agree with all three. Here are some more..
1) If a young pretty girl asks you to teach her all your secret Druid powers run away..you might get stuck in a crystal cave or a tree
2) virginal celebate boys get to see the Holy Grail but die afterwards
3) never build a tower on a hill where two dragons are fighting underneath

and do not strike the person in front of you with your sword - he might be your brother.

How about:
"Don't assume someone's going to kill you just because they drew their sword. They may just be killing the snake that bit their ankle."

Make SURE the person you are fighting isn't your brother, best friend, king, etc. :P

4) The gorgeous queens/laides will never stay faithful to the scruffy kings/lords. They just won't. Deal with it. ;)
