im currently reading Alice Borchadt's Raven Warrior. I read her Dragon Queen last year.

I was wondering if anyone else read it and what they thought of her writing style.

(please no spoilers! im only 170 pages in!)

Stalk? Me? You should be so lucky! Nah. ;-)

Though I will comment as far as saying that the young woman in those user-icon photographs (I.E. not clive owens) portrays a more attractive librarian or librarian-in-training than I've seen. Would that be you?

I neither care for her writing style nor for the radical turn her storylines take.
I understand that the part of the purpose of the Arthur myths is that in the rewriting it says a lot about the time in which it was rewriten.
However.
Alice is just on another planet and it's not what I prefer in an Arthurian legand book.

YMMV

I keep thinking that they'd read much better if I was actually on the same drugs she was on when she wrote them. They seem so...trippy.
(not nocking it, just want in on the ride.)

Hello everyone, I'm new. I read the Raven warrior too, and I paid a pretty penny for the hard cover edition. I thought I was the only one to read it and not enjoy it at all. There were a few things I didn't enjoy about it and The Dragon Queen for that matter. Her "modern slang" as you put it was horribly annoying. One line stands out to me even now, my little sister ranted and raved about who her editor was and how the got the job in the first place... "Women were on him like cats to catnip". Corny, cheesy and seemingly badly thought out all together. I found everything about the lady of the lake annoying, she was more of a horny teenager type than anything else. I think I'll finish the trilogy simply because I hate leaving things undone. I'll definately try and get a cheaper copy next time though.
