I happened into a used antiquarian bookstore in Amherst yesterday, and found a first edition of a book called "A Boy's Book of King Arthur Legends." It was really cool, but the price tag of $45 made me put it back on the shelf. :-(

Ick! Head over to Barnes and Noble...I saw some Arthurian anthologies for $7 or less. Hopefully they're still around. And hopefully all branches carry them. There were some different stories in there I hadn't seen before.

Yeah, except B & N doesn't carry out of print 40 year old books, which is what this was. If I had the money, I would have jumped on this--oh well.

Barnes and Noble is satan. They don't have anything but the most extreme popular things. Diediedie. Maybe it will still be there when you do have the cash? Cos that would be sweet. :)

I would have bartered the price and depending on the condition I would do research on the book to see if $45 was a good price.

I am going through my books and selling a bunch of them old law and Medical books no longer want hubby to carry other peoples books around ....been doing that for years.

Good point about price bartering--hadn't thought of that. I could see someone spending the $45 on that book though--wouldn't be surprised about that at all. In the long run, $45 is not alot of money--but it it is alot of money, coming on the heels of spending loads of money at the flea the weekend before! I'm still wondering who is going to pay my amex card this month! ;-)

I hear that all to well I am looking at things for the new house and even before we mve some work has to be done ......if I find that book I will let you know I am always looking for rare books and I usually get a good brice for my bartering .........
