I am going to see "King Arthur" tomorrow. It looks as though they will not portray Merlin the way most do. I was wondering if anyone has seen this movie and what they think of the Merlin character.
BUMMER!!!! OMG. I've seen the trailer and previews for ours, and checked to MAKE SURE (at The Rave, a local theater). It starts tomorrow as scheduled!!! :-D
You might want to find your theater online, and click on tomorrow? Where are you?
Nope. Never mind, I'll see if I can see it as soon as it comes out... I'm just wondering, looking at the trailers, if I'll be flinching all the way through at the costuming.....
Hahahhaha! I'm just going to take it as it is -- yet another story about King Arthur.
I have a book that sort of demystified all of it for me (just looked for it, and grRRRr...I think I put it back on a HUGE BOOKSHELF). But the guy who wrote it is allegedly *the* authority on all things Arthurian. There went my lovely fantasies. :)
I think we all pick and choose which versions of the story we like best. Back then, they didn't have televisions, technology ... nor electricity. The best entertainment were the storytellers (and of course sex...hahaha). :)
I won't hop on this site and rail about how unrealistic it seems on the big screen. Have you seen "First Knight"? Or "Chamelot"? Gawd, I have quite a few movies ABOUT this story and all are conflicting.
I'm going purely for the cinematic thrill of seeing my favorite time period idea played out :-D So they'd best get the costumes right!! lol :)
the history channel had some thing on arthur last week (i think). it was supposed to be about the "real arthur." i really wanted to see it but i missed it. did anyone see it?
Weeee!
