I have a few reviews of Arthuriana-related books here (under my other username, and one by [livejournal.com profile] afrai) -- fiction and nonfiction. I just posted one of Elizabeth E. Wein's The Winter Prince (has anyone else read it? What do you think?).

Anyhow, I was wondering, since I'm slowly working my way through all the Arthurian fiction I can find that doesn't make me want to gouge my eyes out, if there would be any interest in an Arthurian lit community -- possibly with a regular book discussion planned, possibly not.

I have read the Bernard Cornwell books on Authurian legend - the winter king, excalibur and enemy of god - which are quite entertaining.

I wouldn't say that - not on his Arthurian books no - his other work notable being Sharpe is of course very military but no with Cornwell's Arthurian series he goes very much into the mysteries of it all.

Who is that in your icon? It looks like Susan Lynch (the selkie woman in The Secret of Roan Inish).

I'd be very interested in joining such a community :) if one was willing to start it. I seem to have the same problem finding Authrian Lit that doesn't make me want to gouge my eyes out, and since I'm not a fan of The Mysts of Avalon there seems to be lacking of enjoyable Arthur stories for me.

A separate LJ for an Arthurian lit community would be great! I've just recently renewed my interest in Arthurian literature again after being busy for too long. Plus I'm always looking for more recommendations.

I've just currently finished the second book of the Guenevere series by R. Miles and I'm going to the library tomorrow to borrow the third. I'll also try and borrow the Cornwell series.

What other series are worth reading out there?
