Thought some of you might be interested in thisthis. I, for one, am hunting it down religiously!

I had to watch it for my English Lit class a few weeks ago and actually, it's a pretty bad movie. It's really cheesy, and there were a lot of things that made me cringe visibly. Queen Mab, an obvious lack of Morgause, and a million other things.

Merlin was my first taste of Arthurian Legend in a couple of years. So when we watched in my English 2 class, I thought it was pretty good. Of course, there a lot of people who completely disagree and there are some parts that are pretty bad, but I have heard of and seen a lot worse. Besides, the man who plays Mordred is worth watching. *nod*

Yeah, i thought Mordred was an interesting guy in Merlin, thus starting my obscession... Some parts of that movie could deffinity use tweaking, but a good primer to the idea none-the-less

Mordred is my favourite figure in Arthurian Legend. So much so that I based an essay last year on him. *smile*

And in my Contemporary History class, our teacher was telling us how, during John F. Kennedy's presidency, the people of America felt like America was a sort of Camelot and that JFK was the King. We're talking about the assassination and the teacher says, "And you don't just kill the king of Camelot."

To which I mumbled (just loud enough for my friends to hear), "Mordred did."

Like it was nothing.

*shrug*

So. Yeah. I'm a wee bit obsessed. :d

you should be able to find it on dvd (i don't believe it's out on video) at like tower records, suncoast, sam goody's... most places that have a decent-size selection.

while i have some arguements with the storyline, i adore miranda richardson as mab. :)

It's on video, they always release it on video and DVD as well. I've seen it myself.

Ahhh that came out a couple of years ago, it's an entertaining story and neat interpretation of Merlin's story. Though many Arthurian fans here despise it with a passion from hell, I reccomend you see it just to form your own opinion of it. *nods*

Mixed feelings...

My stepsister [livejournal.com profile] mab8merlin loves that movie. I think it's interesting, for the obvious reason-- it's a Merlin perspective. Also, I have always been a Sam Neill fan.

Then again, I saw it before I read Mists. I'd like to watch it soon again, because it seems as if there's a lot of leaving out/demonization of women. And something that happens in the very end kind of bothers me... something I'd expect Merlin to accept, but not all pagans.

Anyways, yeah, my sister likes Mab and I like Guinevere. Still, we have not killed each other.
