Just wanted to let you guys know about a new community I've started where you can talk about medieval literature and medieval historical fiction and comparing and contrasting the two and pretty much any- and everything to do with these two subjects. Check it out at [livejournal.com profile] med_lit_fic

x-posted multiple places, sorry.

I just started reading 'The Discovery of King Arthur' by Geoffrey Ashe and finding it to be very engaging. It's mostly the history of Arthur and I'm really enjoying it. I looked on amazon.com and Ashe has written many books on the subject of Arthur (unfortunately, many are out of print.) Anyway, I was wondering what your opinions on Ashe are? Is he historically accurate in his books? Do you enjoy his work? I would kill for a copy of his 'Traveler's guide to Arthurian Britain' but it's impossible to find except for a copy being sold used at amazon.com for $120!!!!!!

Connoiusseurs of Geoffrey Ashe speak!

HILL OF TARA THREATENED

Tara, seat of the kings of Ireland and the veritable soul of Ireland
itself, is threatened by plans to build a major motorway through the
area. A large number of archeological sites will be immediately
impacted by this decision, and a floodlit 34-acre highway interchange
will be placed half a mile from the sacred hill itself.

You can do something about this really bad idea by going to

run by the Tara-Skryne
Valley Campaign.
