I'm new!

Bonjour all! I stumbled across this via a friend of a friend's friend. I'm a Spanish major, History minor (emphasis on the middle ages and western war/conflict) in the northwest. I guess I've always been caught up in the mystery and romance surrounding the medieval period, even though half of it is definately embellished! ;) I would say I was hooked when I read Mary Stewart's Merlin Trilogy back in early high school. I'm off to study in Spain in a month and hope to explore some of those European castles I've always read about. I'm very interested to see what members of this community have to say!
(I'm also writing a fantasy novel, albeit slow going)
